Community Outreach

We want to make a difference in this lost and hurting world, so we believe we should start with the neighbors God has placed around us. Locally, we serve through projects in our community that minister to human need (i.e. feed the hungry, crisis ministries, community garden, car care).

Our goal is to meet practical needs that open up opportunities to share the Gospel through relational service. Relational service is more than just having a canned food drive for example; it is an ongoing commitment to connect with hurting people to make and see life change.

Reynolds Community Thanksgiving Outreach
Saturday, November 22 @ 5:00 & 5:30pm

What's Happening

Around 50 families from the Bair Foundation, Haw Creek Elementary, Oakley Elementary, AC Reynolds Middle, and AC Reynolds High schools have been invited to come have a free chili, cornbread, and brownie dinner here at the church. They will also be given a Thanksgiving meal box to take home. Families from the elementary schools will come at 5:00pm, and those from Reynolds and the Bair Foundation will come at 5:30pm so that the line for the meal doesn't get too overwhelming.

How You Can Help

  1. NEW! Be a Sponsor for Meal Items. We are asking people to pick up a money card at the sign up table on Sundays, November 9 and 16. Cards will be in the amounts of $40 (sponsor an entire family's meal), $20 (sponsor a turkey), $10 (sponsor side items), and $5 (sponsor a pie/bread). This is new to us this year and we are doing it this way simply because a vendor in the community is giving us discounted prices on the items we need. Therefore, we can get more items for your money and be able to provide more food for these families.

  2. Food Box Assembly. Take all food item donations and divide them among the families. Boxes will be assembled Saturday morning. (Team is full.)

  3. Set Up/Decorate. Tables need to be set up in the Worship Center prior to the event.

  4. Registration Desk. Be a kind first face to our guest, help check in, and give out meal box tickets.

  5. Dinner Food Provider. Most of the dinner food items have been taken care of, but we are in need of a few more people to bring potato soup.

  6. Dinner Servers. Help serve the meal. Take of care of restocking the line when needed. (Team is full.)

  7. Food Box Distributor. Issue boxes to families and help take them to their cars. (Team is full.)

  8. Pray. Pray for  those that have been invited. Pray for the team leaders of this outreach event. And, pray that the light of Christ will be felt by all involved.

Collections

Out of response to God's greatest gift to us - Jesus coming to earth to rescue His people - it is a natural response for us to desire to give to others, especially those in need.

Donation Request

Covenant will seek donations of goods from the congregation for a worthy need. This request must be completed and presented to Missions Team no later than 30 days in advance of the first Sunday of the month in which it is desired. The Missions team will determine if the collection is in line with our mission and vision before approving and/or advertising for the collection. Completing an application does not guarantee approval. Click here for a Donations Request form.
