2015-Summer-Food-Distribution-Project

Feed Hungry Kids

Congregations for Children will be feeding children ages 2 - 18 for eight weeks during June, July, and August at 45 different sites throughout our county. Two of these sites will be in our local community. Volunteers are needed to help distribute lunches prepared by Buncombe County Schools at approved feeding sites (primarily where children live) this summer.
One of our current small groups has already committed to participate (meaning they show up at the site one day per week for 1 1/2 hours to serve food to these kids) and we are looking to see if there are more of you that want to help. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Angie ParkerWe are not asking you to commit at this time; we just need to know how many may be interested.

Community Outreach

We want to make a difference in this lost and hurting world, so we believe we should start with the neighbors God has placed around us. Locally, we serve through projects in our community that minister to human need (i.e. feed the hungry, crisis ministries, community garden, car care).

Our goal is to meet practical needs that open up opportunities to share the Gospel through relational service. Relational service is more than just having a canned food drive for example; it is an ongoing commitment to connect with hurting people to make and see life change.

Collections

Out of response to God's greatest gift to us - Jesus coming to earth to rescue His people - it is a natural response for us to desire to give to others, especially those in need.

Donation Request

Covenant will seek donations of goods from the congregation for a worthy need. This request must be completed and presented to Missions Team no later than 30 days in advance of the first Sunday of the month in which it is desired. The Missions team will determine if the collection is in line with our mission and vision before approving and/or advertising for the collection. Completing an application does not guarantee approval. Click here for a Donations Request form.
